The only fully managed, end-to-end bag message distribution system, SITA Bag Message ensures that global baggage systems are able to function. SITA Bag Message processes over 3.36 billion messages a year and is the backbone of efficient baggage operations for countless users across the world.

SITA Bag Connect, a module of SITA Bag Message, generates missing baggage source messages. These are sent to airport baggage sortation systems in time to facilitate the sorting of transfer baggage. SITA Bag Connect is especially relevant if you are a carrier with many transfer bags.

Only SITA has the global coverage and economies of scale to ensure smooth, seamless baggage data delivery. SITA Bag Message has 160+ customers and is connected to over 560 airlines, 400 airports, 35 host departure control systems and numerous third-party systems worldwide.

How it helps

SITA Bag Message eliminates the need for an airport baggage system operator to manage network connections to multiple airline customers. It also removes the need for airport-based hardware and on-site maintenance.

It offers a fully redundant bi-directional connection through which airline DCSs and airport baggage systems can communicate. It also reduces Type B messaging costs by allowing airlines and airports to connect via Message Queue (MQ) or the Internet (TCP/IP) on IP-VPN legacy protocols.
